The Power House Ice Eater from Airmax | Pond De icer | Dock Bubbler Deicer | Marina De–Icer is designed to prevent ice formation around boats, marinas, and boathouses. Available in 3/4 HP and 1 HP, with options for 115 or 230 Volt power. Ice eaters include a 25′, 50′, or 100′ electrical cord, two 25′ braided ties ropes and a protective intake screen. The 16″ Ice Eater shroud is designed to move high amounts of water like a canon. Installed on an angle the ice eater will keep an area of 35-40′ x 100′ open in the winter.

These same motors are widely used in floating fountains and surface aerators. These units have been used for de-icing docks, boat houses for years and 20 years ago we repurposed them for summer use. Building special heavy duty dock mounts and portable mounts to get rid of summer floating weeds and debris. Many more are sold in the summer, and these powerful blowers offer 1250 and 1400 GPM water flow.
With the shroud directing water like a canon, the stream of water and weeds heads backout into the lake. This stream draws in floating weeds from surrounding areas to keep your lakeshore clean. The motors are the most powerful and the most efficient on the market running between 6.5 and 7 running amps. Now with the dock and portable mounts offering 360 degree movement, 6 different angles and a 6’ construction grade pipe. Customers can use them in the summer and in the winter offering docks year round protection. With the holes predrilled into the top you can angle the blowers by moving the tie rope to get a longer but narrower de-icing pattern for docks and boats. The Ice Eater, the original De-Icer, is the leader in quality, durability, and performance. It is designed to prevent ice from forming around boats, marinas, docks, and piers as well as effectively melting existing ice by breaking the surface with a continuous current of warmer bottom water.
HOW IT WORKS
The Ice Eater’s propeller draws up warmer subsurface water and deflects it to the surface creating a constant circulation of warmer water that prevents ice formation and melts existing ice.
The design of the Ice Eater’s venturi shroud (white housing) with outwardly flared ends, provides more upward thrust & draws warmer water from greater depths than other conventional de-icers.
WHY BUY THE ORIGINAL DE-ICER?
Ice Eater is shipped complete with suspension lines and shackles. Therefore, it can be taken out of the box, hung from a boat, dock, or pier and plugged in.
Unlike other de-icing units, Ice Eater requires no additional hardware to obtain the desired de-icing pattern. Just move a shackle from one hole to another hole on the top rim, and you can quickly change the angle the Ice Eater is suspended at.
The average operating depth is between two and three feet, but for best performance, ensure there is at least one foot between the Ice Eater and the seabed.

When You Should Use the Ice Eater
The Ice Eater is used to protect your docks, piers, marinas, and boats from ice and ice damage. Ice can twist your dock and even completely pull pilings out of the ground without protection from the Ice Eaters. Some boat owners pull their boats from the water during the winter months, costing them wrapping fees and storage. Pulling a boat is a major time commitment. Another option is to use an Ice Eater to protect your boats during the winter, preventing ice scratches and punctures on the coldest days. You can’t get back on your boat at a moment’s notice if it’s been stored away. The 1Hp Ice Eater can clear an area as large as 80′ to protect your assets before the ice sets.
